A little over seven years ago, I launched Stokkr (then Aery). I was an Unsplash power user at time, both posting content myself and liking lots of photos of other contributors. To not have to download every image I liked to my local collection, I started building Stokkr. It simply synced every photo you liked to Dropbox. A little later, I added a lot of statistics: most liked photos, most downloaded photos and the like.
However, Stokkr never gathered a large user base. I kept it up and running, but never added any more features or properly maintained it. User signup has been broken for over a year, the sync process has been skipping images ever since a big refactor in 2020. Unsplash also grew a lot over the years, making it all but impossible to keep user and photo stats up to date. Meaning the stats shown on Stokkr are not entirely accurate/up to date.
There is one feature of Stokkr I will migrate to a new home: the Unsplash follower lookup. It does not require any infrastructure and only uses a single API request to look up the number of followers a user has. The rest of Stokkr will be has been shut down on January 31, 2024.
